Altha Burts

Founder & Executive Director

In 1978, Altha Burts recognized her calling from the Lord to minister to hurting people. Taken away from her home at 12 because of severe child abuse, she spent several years in Foster and Group Homes. At age 27, she had a dramatic conversion and was born again. Within a few years, she heard the Lord’s call through Scripture to a full time ministry to hurting people, which was soon confirmed by leaders in the church.

Altha attended Grace Fellowship Institute in Colorado, where she learned the foundational truths of Biblical counseling. Over the next several years, her ministry developed and grew as many hurting persons experienced the restorative and transformational power of God’s Word, the Holy Bible. Altha says her passion is to see and experience the glory of Jesus and abide in His fullness and lead others in the body of Christ to do the same.

Altha developed the teaching “Unless a Grain of Wheat” which was eventually reformatted into the “Treasures of Truth” (see our “about” page for description of these teachings). You can read about Altha’s journey in her book Come Up Higher, available for purchase at www.amazon.com. You may also listen to her audio testimony by clicking here.

She received a call from God into ministry in 1990 from Acts 26:16-18. A gifted teacher in God’s Word, Margie’s passion both in study and teaching is beholding and knowing Jesus….the One who died for us, and rose again. She has lived her life for the glory and purposes of God in full time ministry since January 1994.
